| How to Turn Fingers- Part One - Sewing the Fingers |
|
![]() |
On double flesh coloured fabric, RST, trace, or iron on arm, hands, fingers templates. Using matching coloured thread, and a very small machine stitch (1.5mm), carefully sew along the template line of the arms, (1.mm stitches for the fingers) leaving openings where indicated. Make sure that you take at least two stitches between each finger. Leaving 6mm (1/4" ) allowance all around sewing line, carefully cut out arms. And hands. (1/8" around fingers) |
Clip a small V between each finger, careful not to cut the stitching . Using the fine end of a toothpick , place one small drop of fray check on the seam allowance between each finger (Just where the fingers join the hand). Inside the hand, slide the tube part up into one finger at a time and gently poke the seam allowance into the top of the tube with the wire part. Holding the tube in one hand and the wire in the other, slide the tube up, rolling the doll finger from the tube as you turn it. | |
